LA GRANGE, Wisconsin (WXOW) -  Monroe County Sheriff Pete Quirin reports a two-vehicle crash that resulted in the injuries to one party.

On January 2, 2013 at app. 4:36 PM the Monroe County 911 dispatch center received a call of a motor vehicle crash located on STH 21 just to the west of Enterprise Rd. in the township of La Grange.

A 2008 Chevrolet Uplander being driven by Candice Demarr Brandt age 36 of Black River Falls was traveling eastbound on STH 21.  She was going to turn left into a driveway.  A 2000 Peterbilt semi tractor trailer unit being driven by David Juen age 42 of La Crosse was traveling west on STH 21.  Candice Demarr Brandt apparently did not see the westbound semi tractor trailer unit and proceeded to turn left into the driveway and into the path of the semi unit.  The semi unit ended up in the north ditch line.  The 2008 Chevrolet Uplander ended up on the eastbound shoulder.

Candice Demarr Brandt had to be extricated from the Chevrolet Uplander by the Tomah Area Ambulance Service Rescue Techs.  She was transported by Tomah area Ambulance Service to Tomah Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Gundersen Lutheran hospital with serious injuries.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by the Oakdale / La Grange Fire Department, Oakdale First Responders, Tomah Area Ambulance Service and Rescue Techs, Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Monroe County 911 Communications Center.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
