LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A La Crosse man is injured in an apparent drunk driving crash on top of Grandad's Bluff Saturday evening.
The La Crosse County Sheriff's Department reports that David F. Hyde, Jr., 63, was arrested on a charge of 4th Offense OWI.
Witnesses told officers that the car was driving was headed east up Bliss Road when he left the roadway and drove into a ditch. He went about 150 feet before continuing back on the road.
At the top of the bluff, Hyde missed a curve and hit five parked vehicles in front of the Alpine Inn. All the struck vehicles were towed from the scene because of the damage.
Following the crash, Hyde was taken to Gundersen Lutheran with facial injuries.
