MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison city council members are pushing for tougher federal gun laws.
The council approved a resolution on Tuesday night, urging Congress and President Obama to ban assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition.
The move comes in the wake of a December mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut at an elementary school. 28 people died.
