Gas leak at sand mine leads to evacuation

Blair (WQOW) - About 20 people were evacuated Tuesday morning after a gas leak at a sand mine.

It happened at Preferred Sands in Blair.

Police say an end loader dug too deep and hit a gas main.

No one was hurt.

As the problem was being fixed, people were evacuated within a half-mile of the mine for two to three hours.
