WHITEHALL, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Thursday's rain turns to ice that causes two accidents in Trempealeau County.

The first occured around 6:15 p.m. on Rat Road in the Town of Preston.

A car driven by 47-year-old John Spence of Taylor went out of control on the icy road and rolled into a ditch.  A 10-year-old girl in the car with Spence was taken to Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall with non-life threatening injuries.

The second accident happened at 12:30am Friday morning on Highway 93 in the Town of Hale.  Again, an icy road caused a car driven by 68-year-old Gerald Halama of Independence to leave the road and hit a tree.  Halama went to Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire with severe injuries.
