ONALASKA, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The United Way kicked off their "Give a Little Extra" challenge on Monday. The organization raises funds for more than 60 non-profit programs in the area.
The goal of this years campaign is to reach $2,050,000. As of last week, they are $167,000 short. Five anonymous donors have stepped up and provided $50,000 challenge pledge. If other donors donate $50,000 in pledges, the anonymous donors will match that amount.
"As of last week we were just over $160,000 short," said Mark Glendenning, Great Rivers United Way Campaign Chair. "So we've been lucky enough to have five anonymous donors step up and provide $50,000 for a challenge. As long as we get $50,000 of additional pledges in they'll match that."
