WEST SALEM, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A local high school student is hoping to spread awareness for breast cancer by selling pink T-shirts.
West Salem student, Chloe Stauffer, knows what it's like to watch a loved one go through the battle of breast cancer. Her aunt Anne has been trying to beat the disease for two years. After seeing a family member struggle through the illness, Chloe decided to fund cancer research. On Tuesday, she started selling pink T-shirts. All of the proceeds will go to the Steppin' Out in Pink organization at Gunderson Lutheran.
"We're hoping to sell at least 500 and I'm pretty close already," says Chloe. "That's a good amount of money, $600 we'll almost be raising. Hopefully we can get over that amount."
The T-shirts will be worn on valentine's day at the girls basketball game between West Salem and Westby. The two teams will also be wearing pink uniforms. T-shirts are $10 and if you would like to buy one, you can E-mail Chloe at firstname.lastname@example.org.
