Eau Claire (WQOW)- We are just a few days away from the 127th annual Silvermine Ski Jumping competition here in Eau Claire and while Mother Nature hasn't been kind when it comes to snow conditions, the event is still on.
Crews have been preparing the ski jump for the last few days to get it ready for this weekend's festivities. Athletes travel from all around the world to partake in the fun. This year, organizers have had to give Mother Nature a helping hand and make their own snow.
"This year of course, with that warm up and the rain put a little damper on the spirit of the ski club but they came back in full force and we've made a whole bunch of snow," says Event Organizer Dan Mattoon. "And looking at the forward temperatures coming up, it just looks like fantastic ski jumping weather."
Tickets are $10 if you buy them in advance and $15 if you buy them at the gate.
