Traffic Accident Injures Two

COON VALLEY, Wisconsin (WXOW) A traffic accident on Highway 14 near Coon Valley Wednesday morning sent two people to the hospital, one with serious injuries.

The Vernon County Sheriff reports that a pickup truck driven by 45 year old Susan Hoernel of Viroqua lost control on the slippery surface of Highway 14 just before 11am. 

Her truck crossed the road, struck a concrete barrier, then slid into the path of a semi truck driven by 75 year old Dale Goergen of Caledonia.

The impact sent Goergen's truck through a guardrail, then down a steep embankment.

Georgen is listed in serious condition. Hoernel was also taken to the hospital with a possible head injury.
