
LA CROSSE, WI (WXOW)—A La Crosse man charged with threatening witnesses was in court on Thursday.
33-year-old Raymond Smith Jr. is facing one count of Threat to Judge and seven counts of Threat to Witness, all are Class H Felonies.
According to the criminal complaint, Smith was receiving counseling after the court ordered he could not have contact with his children from an earlier child custody case.
During counseling, a therapist reported to police that smith said, "If I don't get my kids back, I think I will go on a rampage and take down as many people as I can."
Among the people Smith is charged with threatening are his wife, social workers and a judge.
Smith is in jail on a $25,000 cash bond.
He is set to return to court on January 25th.
