Sheriff remains silent on felony drug charges against wife

WAUSAU, Wisconsin (WAOW) - Marathon County's top law enforcement officer remains hard to track down, after prosecutors charged his wife with burglary, misconduct in office and stealing prescription medications.

Kim Hoenisch is a former probation agent. Her husband, Marathon County Sheriff Randy Hoenisch, has remained mum since the story broke last month.

Newsline 9 reporters have repeatedly called, e-mailed and gone to the Marathon County Sheriff's Department in hopes of talking with Hoenisch. We have consistently been told he is not in the office, and e-mails and calls remain unanswered.

Kim Hoenisch is expected to enter a plea to the charges January 28, 2013 in Taylor County. She could face up to 20 years behind bars on the charges.
