ONALASKA, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- Onalaska Mayor Joe Chilsen, who took office last April, says he has high hopes for the city in 2013.
One of his top priorities is the waterfront development project. The project includes developing the actual waterfront, but also reconstructing 2nd Avenue and improving downtown. Chilsen hopes to get the project ahead of schedule.
"We do have a stated timeline from national scenic byways, and Wisconsin DOT and the DNR and we're going to be moving forward," Chilsen said. "I hope we can hit some of our milestones a little quicker than the project."
The waterfront project has been more than 10 years in the making.
