State lawmakers want a closer look at the University of Wisconsin's system of payroll and benefits processing.
Lawmakers ordered a broader audit of the system, saying there's a lack of oversight and a pattern of mismanagement.
A recent audit discovered the system made $33 million in overpayments for health insurance premiums and pension contributions over the past two years.
"I am deeply troubled and embarrassed by the mistakes that were made...and by the magnitude of those errors...we've taken steps to address these issues," UW System President Kevin Reilly said.
Reilly also said there were glitches when the new processing system went online.
