EAU CLAIRE, Wisconsin (WQOW) - An Eau Claire medical facility is now responding to a lawsuit. The Mayo Clinic Health System and a local pediatrician David Van de Loo are being sued for malpractice and negligence by three of Van de Loo's former patients. They claim he sexually assaulted them during office visits.
Now, Mayo is asking an Eau Claire judge to dismiss the company from one of the lawsuits. Court documents show Mayo and its insurance company deny that they could exercise control over him because he was an "independent licensed professional". The clinic also denies it was negligent in any manner.
