Icy roads blamed for Wednesday morning crash

VIROQUA, Wisconsin (WXOW)—A single car accident left four injured in the Town of Webster on Wednesday.

According to Vernon County Sheriff, John Spears, the accident happened in the morning of January 23. A minivan, driven by a 24-year-old La Crosse woman, was traveling south on County Road D. The driver lost control on a downhill curve. The van went off the road, down an embankment and struck some trees. Spears says the roads were slippery at the time of the crash.

The driver and all three passengers were transported by La Farge Ambulance to Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua. All four were treated and released.

The accident remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff's office.
