LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- Faculty at the UW-La Crosse presented research projects Friday, at the 18th annual Faculty Research Day.
The research day offers an opportunity to for faculty to share projects and findings before publication, and get feedback from colleagues.
Heidi Macpherson, the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, says research is an essential part of the education at the university.
"It's absolutely fundamental that our research underpins our teaching and learning activities," Macpherson said. "We are primarily a teaching institution and we're very, very proud of that, but what I like about the research that we do here, is that it definitely feeds in tot he curriculum. Students benefit from it. They are able to go to the labs and do real research as undergraduate researchers."
Though spring semester doesn't start until Monday, some students are on campus already, and many attended research presentations.
