La Crosse, Wisconsin (WXOW) ------ More evidence tonight that the UW-La Crosse offers high quality at a fair price.
Kiplingers Personal Finance Magazine puts UWL at number 73 on the list of "100 Best Values in Public Colleges." The University is one of two public colleges in Wisconsin to make the list. UW-Madison came in at number 13.
Chancellor Joe Gow says UW-L's student-faculty ratio is a big factor. Also the University has a 6 year graduation rate at 69 percent which is well above the national average. GOW says these rankings help attract out of state students. "We have a lot of international students, and have a very large growing population. They see these rankings and say wow look, Kiplinger, a respected authority, says it's one of the top valued Universities in the United States so that's where I'm going to go."
The UW-L ranks at the top of UW system schools for the 12th year in a row on U.S. News & World Report's Best Regional Universities in the Midwest. .
