No foul play suspected in deaths in Wood Co. house fire

SIGEL (WXOW)-- Central Wisconsin authorities say they don't suspect foul play in the Wednesday house fire that killed three family members.

The Wood County Sheriff's Office says the fire in the Town of Sigel appears to have been accidental and apparently started around the garage.

The victims were identified Thursday as 79-year-old William J. Heiser, Sr.; 71-year-old Janet M. Heiser; and their son, 38-year-old William J. Heiser, Jr.

The fire was reported around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.


TOWN OF SIGEL, Wisconsin (AP) - The Wood County coroner says three family members have died in a house fire in the Town of Sigel.

Coroner Garry Kronstedt says an elderly couple and their adult son were killed in the early morning fire Wednesday.

Area fire departments were called to the house that was engulfed in flames about 2:30 a.m.

Firefighters from Vesper, Pittsville, Arpin, Rudolph, Grand Rapids, Nekoosa and Port Edwards responded to the house fire.
