MADISON (WXOW) -- Wisconsin beef experts say prices are expected to increase.
One of the factors was the severe drought that hit Wisconsin and other parts of the country. Beef cattle experts say prices have increased 3 to 5 percent in the last few years and another 5 percent increase is expected this year.
However, one local expert says we do not have exact price increase numbers and at this point it's hard to estimate that number.
"We're really looking at the least number of cattle in the country in the last 63 years. When we look at that, there is not the cattle around we're used to having," says Wisconsin Beef Council Executive Director, John Freitag.
Freitag says he's concerned for beef producers.
