Team Accomplishments: The La Crosse Loggers celebrated their 10-year anniversary season in a big way in 2012. En route to winning their first ever Northwoods Summer Collegiate World Series Title, the Loggers posted the second best record in the 19-year history of the league when they went 53-21. The 2012 Loggers set eight team and/or individual records in 2012 along with posting the franchise's longest ever winning streak at 11 games during the month of June. The Loggers organization continued to excel off the field as well as they drew over 100,000 fans for the 8th consecutive season and welcomed their 1,000,000th fan through the turnstiles during their 10-year anniversary season. The Lumbermen also celebrated more advancements by their alumni in 2012 as their number of alums to reach the big leagues grew to seven with the rise of Robert Brantly and Brett Jackson to the Miami Marlins and the Chicago Cubs, respectively. Former Logger hurler Chris Sale also finished sixth in the American League Cy Young voting when he won 17 games, right-hander Max Scherzer of the Detroit Tigers became the first former Logger to play in a World Series and infielder Jordan Pacheco of the Colorado Rockies finished tied for sixth in National League Rookie of the Year voting. For their efforts, the Northwoods League recognized the La Crosse Loggers as the Organization of the Year for 2012.
