Some opt for bars, others for home to watch Super Bowl XLVII

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – Neither the Packers nor Vikings played in Super Bowl XLVII, but local football fans still seemed excited to watch the big game.

Dozens decided to watch the Ravens play the 49ers at Howie's on La Crosse, cheering on their favorite team and enjoying the commercials.

Many who opted to watch the game at home took a trip to Festival Foods this afternoon to pick up some game-time snacks.

The 2-5 p.m. crowd made the biggest rush, according to assistant store director Bob Hayter.

"It's a big push, so we know it's coming and we prepare for it," Hayter said. "So what we do is we have some extra cashiers and baggers, and we have enough people in all of our departments to take care of our customers when they come in."

Hayter said popular Super Bowl foods include summer sausage, sodas, chips and dip, and beer.
