College Athlete of the Year: Katie Flock

Katie Flock - Viterbo University Volleyball

Sports Competed in: Volleyball

Athletic Awards and Accomplishments (include winter and spring sports of 11 – 12 school year, and fall sports of 12 – 13 school year):

  • Finished 9th in the country (NAIA) in total 561 kills
  • Finished second on the team (behind Libero) with 439 digs
  • Named MCC Player of the Week three times
  • Helped lead Viterbo to MCC regular season and tournament title
  • Helped lead Viterbo to NAIA quarterfinals (Elite 8), schools first appearance in NAIA national tournament
  • Midwest Collegiate Conference (MCC) 1st Team All-Conference (3rd straight season)
  • AVCA First Team All-Region (2nd straight season)
  • CoSIDA Academic All-America All-District First Team
  • NAIA National Championship All-Tournament Team
  • NAIA Third Team All-American
  • AVCA Third Team All-American
  • Became just the third player in school history to record at least1,000 Kills and1,000 Digs in a career
  • Became school's All-time leader in kills (1,840 kills)

Sports Idol: Kerri Walsh

Favorite Sports Memory: Beating Grand View University in the MCC Tournament Championship 3-1 to advance to the NAIA National Tournament and finishing in the Elite 8.

Future Plans: Finish school and become a Registered Nurse (RN)
