LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- Democratic state legislators held a town hall meeting Tuesday night, to discuss issues Wisconsinites want addressed in the next budget.
Democratic senators Jennifer Shilling and Chris Larson and Democratic representatives Steve Doyle and Jill Billings took questions from constituents.
The conversation centered around funding for BadgerCare and education.
"From what I've heard, people certainly are concerned about the state of education in the state and what will happen in this budget compared to the last budget," Sen. Shilling said. "Recently I just met with the La Crosse School District and their school board, and I've been meeting with others, during this interim before the budget is introduced."
The forum held on the Western Technical College campus was open to the public.
Other democratic legislators held similar listening sessions around the state. Governor Walker is set to give his budget address February 20.
