Get active with Minutes in Motion.

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - In today's busy world it can be hard for people to be active and healthy. Gunderson Lutheran is trying to make being active a little more easy by running "Minutes in Motion," a six week Coulee Region physical activity challenge.

The challenge is absolutely free and very easy. You can join individually or with a group of co-workers, friends, or family. The goal is to average 30 minutes a day of physical activity each day or 1,260 minutes in six weeks.

The challenge starts Monday, March 25 and ends Sunday, May 5. The registration process is simple. Go to beginning Monday, Feb. 11. The first 2,000 people to register will be entered in a drawing to win $200 gift cards.

After registering, you can record your minutes daily, weekly, or the total at the end of the challenge.

"One of the best parts about Minutes in Motion is that you can pick any activity that fits into your lifestyle," says Linda Larson, Gunderson Lutheran wellness education specialist and coordinator for Minutes in Motion.

Last year, over 3,887 people took part in Minutes in Motion, and participants recorded more than 5.7 million minutes of physical activity.

If you meet the 1,260-minute goal, you'll be eligible to win the grand prize of $500 sponsored by the Ho-Chunk Nation, or up $100 in gift cards.
