Stevens Point, WISCONSIN (WXOW) Appeal denied.
That was the ruling from the WIAA Wednesday on the Aquinas Co-op hockey team.
They are ineligible for the playoffs, according to Aquinas principal and athletic director Ted Knutson.
The reason is they incurred three-checking from behind penalties this season.
A new rule states once you get three you are disqualified from the playoffs.
Avalanche coaches argued the validity of their second checking from behind penalty earlier this season among other things at the appeal.
So the Aquinas Co-op sees their season end with a share of the MVC title with Onalaska.
