WATERLOO, Iowa (WXOW) - Gundersen Lutheran Health System is now helping provide more services to a Waterloo, Iowa hospital and health provider.
The partnership between Cedar Valley Medical Specialists, Allen Hospital, and Gundersen began at the start of February.
The partnership will mean that patients will be able to have minimally-invasive heart surgeries and complex aortic surgeries at the Waterloo hospital.
"We should be able to probably increase the number of cases in the community by maybe 50 to 60 procedures a year where people would normally have to leave the community that they would be able to be done here." Cedar Valley Medical Specialists CEO Gil Irey said.
