Show choir competition doubles as fundraiser for Logan High School

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Saturday's show choir competition at Logan High School supported the arts in more ways than one.

About 20 groups competed on the high school's stage.

They impressed in song, dance and performance.

But the competition also served as a fundraiser for Logan.

Logan's Choir Director Doreen Athnos said all the money made from admissions, souvenirs and concessions will help fund music education at the school.

That includes support for Logan's two show choirs, The Class Act and The Classy Ladies.

"I think it's really cool because kids are really passionate about singing and they're passionate about music, they're passionate about performing. They get to meet kids that really love to do the same things that they do," Athnos said.

Logan's show choir even has a parent committee that helped set up the facility – including the stage.

The theme of Saturday's competition was "Express Yourself."
