WIAA Boys Hoops Brackets

(WXOW) - Forget the madness in March, Frantic February is about to begin with the onset of the 2013 WIAA Boys Basketball Tournament.

The brackets have been finalized, so without further ado, here's a quick rundown of the *seeding:

Division 2 (Click to see full bracket)

No surprise, the state's top-ranked D2 team gets the top seed. Onalaska will host either Menomonie or New Richmond in the second round on February 22nd as the Hilltoppers look to begin their title defense.

In order to get back to state, however, Onalaska may have to get by Central. The Red Raiders picked up the #2 seed setting up potentially an all-MVC sectional semifinal.

Division 3

Aquinas looks poised for a run to the Kohl Center. The Blugolds get a #1 seed in D3. They'll get the winner of Altoona and Bloomer on the 22nd.

They too could see a familiar foe in sectionals. Defending Division 3 state runner-up G-E-T netted the #3 seed. The Red Hawks will likely see six-seeded West Salem to open the post-season.

Division 4

Just a handful of Coulee Region representatives qualify in D4. With their #1 seed, Luther makes it two Onalaska-based teams taking top spots. The Knights get a first round bye and will meet either #9 Osseo-Fairchild or #8 Wisconsin Heights to start regional play.

Division 5

There are plenty of area favorites in D5. Royall checks in as the highest seeded team at. They aim to make a deep run as a #1 seed. Hillsboro gets a #2 seed, as does North Crawford. La Farge and Cochrane-Fountain City both get a #3. Brookwood, Eleva-Strum and Wauzeka-Steuben all crack the top four.
