More control on employee pay for UW officials

Posted:

MADISON, Wisconsin (WKOW) - Governor Scott Walker wants to give University of Wisconsin officials more control over how they pay employees.  Walker is expected to include a provision in his upcoming budget that would give UW-Madison and the UW System the ability to develop a pay plan without approval from the legislature. Those officials say legislative approval has kept salaries too low to attract top talent. Lawmakers would still have a say over how much money the UW gets on the whole.
