GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (WXOW) - According to NFL.com and ESPN.com, the Green Bay Packers are planning on releasing defensive back Charles Woodson.
The NFL.com report quotes Woodson's agent Carl Poston as saying, "They're getting ready to release him. It's part of the business. I just talked to him. He sounds like he has a lot of football left. He'd like to go play for a , contender, win another Super Bowl."
In his career, Woodson has grabbed 55 interceptions and 17 sacks.
Woodson was the 2009 defensive player of the year.
