Police look for men accused of robbing La Crosse Cab Driver


La Crosse, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The La Crosse Police Department is looking for two men suspected of robbing a taxi cab driver.

It happened around 7:30, Thursday night, in the south alley on 900 Vine Street.

Police say the cab driver was called to the alley for a routine pick-up.  When the driver arrived, two men were waiting.  Cops say one of the men started talking with the cabbie, while the other jumped in the back seat of the cab.  That is when the cab driver says the man in the back seat punched him several times in the face, choked him and robbed him. 

Authorities describe the men as being in their middle twenties. Both are black males. One is around 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.  The other, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs around 175 pounds.  Both were last seen leaving the alley in dark clothing.  Police say they did take cash from the cab driver.  Anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 608-784-TIPS (8477).

The cab driver suffered minor facial injures.
