WIAA Hockey tournament schedule released

STEVENS POINT (WXOW) - The Onalaska Girls Hockey team leads off Friday's tournament action at the WIAA State Hockey Championships.

The tournament runs February 28 - March 2.

It's the 43rd year for the tournament.

Onalaska takes on the D.C. Everest Co-op team at noon Friday.  The winner plays in the championship game at 12:10 p.m. Saturday.

Both the boys and girls hockey teams will play at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.

Tickets are $8 a session and middle school students sporting their hockey team gear can get in for $5.

The boys quarterfinals and semifinals and the girls semifinals will be streamed live on foxsportswisconsin.com.

Thursday, Feb. 28

  • Game-1:   Wausau West (17-9-1) vs. Verona (25-2) - Noon
  • Game-2:   Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln (18-8) vs. Notre Dame (24-1-1) - 2:15 p.m.*
  • Game-3:   Eau Claire Memorial (20-6-1) vs. Whitefish Bay Co-op? (22-4-1) - 6 p.m.
  • Game-4:   Superior (18-7-1) vs. Fond du Lac (22-3-2) - 8:15 p.m.*

Friday, March 1

  • Game-5:  Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 - 6 p.m.
  • Game-6:  Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 4 - 8:15 p.m.*

Saturday, March 2

  • Game-7:  Championship Game - 2:15 p.m.*
