LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)—The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is sponsoring a meeting to improve teen services in the area.
The goal is to bring people together who serve teens to share ideas.
In many cases, Lisa Luckey, YMCA Teen Center Director said providers don't know what other groups are doing.
Luckey said they're focusing on teens because there are a lot of programs for elementary and middle school aged children, but once they reach high school after school programs diminish.
"Right now what we're looking at is that awareness pieces," Luckey said. "Knowing what's going on in the community for teens then being able to enhance that in the future through collaborations, through referrals to appropriate services."
Teen Service Providers Network Meeting is next Thursday morning at 10, at the YMCA on Main Street in La Crosse.
