ST. PAUL, Minn. (WAOW) - Saint Paul Police say they have arrested Jeffery Trevino, 37, on suspicion of homicide in connection with his wife's disappearance, according to a press release. Trevino was booked in the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center Tuesday afternoon.
Kira Trevino, 30, has been missing since last Friday.
Police say they searched Trevino's home on Iowa Avenue in St. Paul. According to the press release, police found evidence at the scene that lead investigators to "believe that a crime had been committed." They are still combing through evidence but declined to elaborate further.
Kira Trevino, who graduated from D.C. Everest High School more than a decade ago, was last seen Friday in St. Paul by her husband. Trevino worked until late Thursday afternoon at her job as a manager at Delia's inside Mall of America.
Investigators found Trevino's car but won't say what they found in her car.
A mall spokesperson says all activity on mall property is monitored by cameras.
Family and friends said she wouldn't leave without telling anyone. "She's got a great work ethic, she's dependable, she's reliable. She's got great love for her family and friends," Trevino's sister Keri Anne Steger said. "She likes to travel and try new things. I'm just hoping we find her safe."
Paulos says it is unknown if Trevino was driving or on foot when she went missing, but her white Chevrolet Cobalt was found early Monday at a Mall of America parking lot in Bloomington, Minn.
Few other details were released.
Trevino, whose maiden name is Steger, graduated from D.C. Everest in 2001, the school said.
Trevino is described as 5'4" tall, weighing about 110 pounds, with blonde hair and green eyes.
