1 killed after car collides with school bus

NEAR ADAMS, Minnesota (FOX 47) -- The Minnesota State Patrol says one person has died after a car collided with a school bus near Adams.

It happened on Highway 56 near County Road 5 at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The car spun out on an icy road and collided with the bus with 50 students on board.

Southland Schools Superintendent Steve Sallee said none of the children or the bus driver was seriously hurt, although some may have minor injuries. The students were taken to the Adams fire hall, where parents picked them up.

But authorities say one person in the car died and another was seriously hurt.

The Minnesota State Patrol will release more information Thursday morning.
