OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - They call her Mrs. Tiger. And you won't see much of him, But there is a Mr. Tiger too: the baby-daddy.
"She thought because of her tiger stripes that Mrs. Tiger was an appropriate name," says Deziray Click, mother of Alessondra, whom the web cam is named after.
This is not the first year the Tiger Family of owls has roosted in a window box in Rose Creek, OK.
"She has laid eggs for four years but has only set them for two years," explains mom, Deziray.
The Click Family set up a webcam last year. This year they really ramped up their game with two HD cameras and a live feed on U-Stream.
"The door is normally locked to the theater room," says Deziray, because Mrs. Tiger doesn't like to be disturbed. With the web-cam, the Clicks can watch from afar.
Owl experts and bird rehab specialists are logging on too. So far, the Tiger Family has had 750,000 hits on U-Stream. Wow!
"To watch the mating patterns and the hatching of wild owls, you just don't see that," says Deziray.
It has been quite the lesson for seven year old Alessondra. "They look exactly the same but there's one named Tiger Lilly and one named Tigress," says Alessondra.
A home-school second grader who's become an owl expert herself. Mrs. Tiger laid two eggs this year. They hatched the weekend of February 24th and 25th. Two owlets starting off life at the Clicks.
The Clicks keep the stream live 24-hours a day so you can watch Mr. Tiger drop off dinner and see Mrs. Tiger feed her babies. The web address is ustream.tv/okcowlCam
