LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- It may be quite early to be talking about the next presidential election, but a new poll has some interesting findings related to Wisconsin.
A survey by Public Policy Polling found former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would beat Congressman and Former Republican Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan by a eight point margin. Clinton would beat Republican Governor Scott Walker by an even larger, 54 to 41 percent, margin.
Governor Walker says the fact that he's considered a potential candidate means Wisconsin is on the right track. Though he won't directly say if he's planning to run.
"When you're in charge, the buck stops with you," Walker said. "In other jobs, people could be doing a lack luster job and still pursue other positions. In my case, no one's going to talk about it unless we're doing good work in Wisconsin. So, my goal is making life better for the people of Wisconsin, but who knows what the future holds."
Walker says right now he's focused on being governor.
