LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - The Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center hosted its annual artifact show March 2 at Valley View Mall.
MVAC experts there were joined by local artifact collectors, and they had the chance to both show off what they do know, and learn something new.
"People bring in dinosaur bones from South Dakota, they bring in projectile points or other artifacts found locally...the collectors have materials...some they've traded for, and others that are just beautiful artifacts...you don't have to be an archaeologist to appreciate the craftsmanship that went into making these," MVAC Executive Director Joseph Tiffany said.
If you missed the exhibition, you can visit the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center at any time.
It's located in the archaeology building at UW-La Crosse on 1725 State St.
For center hours and upcoming events, you can visit the MVAC website at http://www.uwlax.edu/mvac/.
