SPARTA, Wisconsin (WXOW) - When Shannon Scholze's uncle died, he left Scholze his instruments, which inspired him to become a musician.
Sunday, in his uncle's honor, Scholze hosted the fourth annual "Arnold Music Tribute."
The Sparta fundraiser is a way to raise money to buy children instruments, fund music lesions and send them to music camp.
Some of last year's donations even helped fund Sparta's music department.
"I decided I wanted to do something for the kids in the area, so I said we're gonna start a tribute in honor of my uncle," Scholze said. "So, what we do is we raise money for kids who can't afford to go to music."
The music tribute raised more than $3,000 last year.
Scholze said he is hoping to exceed that number this year.
