Winona, MN (WXOW)- Winona Health was awarded an "A" Hospital Safety Score by The Leapfrog Group, which is an independent national nonprofit run by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits. The "A" score awarded in the latest update to the Hospital Safety Score.
The Hospital Safety Score uses 26 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to produce a single score representing a hospital's overall capacity to keep patients safe from infections, injuries, and medication errors.
"Earning an "A" for patient safety is a goal we're committed to for every patient, every day," said Kathleen Lanik, Winona Health's chief quality and safety officer. "Every staff member understands that safety is nonnegotiable, and we continuously evaluate and improve our processes to ensure the highest level of quality and safety."
