
MADISON, Wisconsin (WKOW) - Three suspects are in custody this morning (03/06) after shots were fired near the UW-Madison last night (03/05).
According to the UW police department reports of shots being fired came in around 9:30 P.M. Wisc-Alerts were sent to the campus community closer to 10 P.M. advising of the situation and describing the suspects.
The university police chief says a motive for the shooting is still unclear.
Chief Susan Riseling, UW-Madison Police says, "We're not sure what these individuals were doing [near campus]. They don't appear to have an university affiliation whatsoever."
Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Further information is expected to be released later today (03/06).
