LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The Parenting Place offers programs to educate, strengthen, and support parents and caregivers.
Right now they could use some help in return. One of the many services they offer is diapers for parents who are having problems making ends meet. Parents can come in and get about twelve diapers, usually enough to hold them over til pay day. Recently, The Parenting Place has been noticing an increased number of calls from parents in need of diapers.
Marilyn Huckenpoehler, Assistant Director of The Parenting Place, said, "What we're finding is that people are not relying on this as a resource. It really is something that's just a temporary one-time thing. When I look back at the records, we do track who uses that and its not something where we have the same families coming in over and over."
If you have diapers that no longer fit your child or just want to donate, you can stop in at any one of the Parenting Place locations in La Crosse, Onalaska, Sparta, or Tomah.
