LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - A giant colon is on display at the Valley View Mall to promote colon cancer awareness month.
You can walk into the colon and learn about colon health March 9-10.
"Colon cancer is one of the most preventable cancers in the United States. It's the third leading cause of cancer death in both men and women, and it is so preventable. Colonoscopy screening, or screening by other modalities, really has made a huge impact in this country in decreasing the number of colon cancer deaths," Dr. Michael Van Norstrand of Mayo Clinic Health System said.
Professionals from Mayo Clinic Health System are on site if you have any questions.
