MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Senior Duane Wilson scored 26 points to lead Whitefish Bay Dominican to a 57-44 victory over Auburndale, winning the WIAA Division 4 state title Saturday in Madison.
Dominican (24-4) won its second straight state championship after shooting 49% (24 for 49) from the floor. Sophomore Diamond Stone, regarded as 1 of the top national prospects for his class, added 22 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.
The Knights never trailed. They took control with a 12-0 run in the second quarter. Stone and Wilson, who will play at Marquette next season, scored 10 points during the run, highlighted by Wilson's between-the-legs pass that Stone slammed in.
Senior Austin Hawkins scored a game-high 31 points for Auburndale (26-2), which fell to 2-3 in state championship games.
