LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Many area residents will wake up Monday with some work to do on sidewalks and driveways.
Up to six inches of new snow will fall between Sunday evening and Monday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning until 10am Monday for Northeast Iowa, Southeastern Minnesota, and Southwestern Wisconsin.
The cities of Rochester, Winona, Prairie du Chien, La Crosse, Sparta, and Tomah are included in the warning.
Storm reports from just after midnight show that nearly seven inches fell in the last 24 hours in parts of Olmsted County in Minnesota, six in Saint Ansgar, Iowa, and three-and-a-half inches at the National Weather Service in La Crosse.
The majority of the snow will fall overnight and into early Monday morning. Morning commutes are expected to be impacted and hazardous.
