Black bear pops up along Highway 53 in Eau Claire

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A black bear popped out of hiding for a little while Sunday in Eau Claire.

A viewer sent in this picture taken from the 53 Bypass near the North Crossing exit. It appears to be a black bear, peeking out from hibernation in a storm drain. The DNR did show up after getting calls about the bear, but by that time, the bear was nowhere to be found.
