Women light pink smoke to signal equality

MADISON, Wisconsin (WKOW) -  With all the attention now on the Conclave, some people are asking the Catholic church to allow women to be ordained as priests.

Colorful protests were held in cities around the world on Tuesday (03/12) including Madison, Wisconsin.

Playing off the Vatican's black and white smoke the ladies released purple smoke.

And the group is asking the new pope to end what they call "sexism in the church."

The Women's Ordination Conference -- a national group -- says past popes took women's ordination off the table.
