SPARTA, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A former Sparta High School student is encouraging teens to donate blood.
Wednesday, Sparta High School graduate and current Miss Sparta, Molly Sullivan, spoke to the students about blood donations and encouraged them to give blood. Molly herself has donated one and a half gallons of blood and says it's important to get people such as high school students to give blood early in life.
"It's especially important to reach out to the younger kids because they're impressionable and to get such a healthy and life saving habit in their lives so early is such a great thing because it's something they can take with them the rest of their lives."
Sparta High School will hold a blood drive on Friday, March 15 from 9 in the morning till 2. The community is encouraged to participate. You can register by contacting the high school office at 608-366-3504.
