ST. CHARLES, Minn. (WXOW) - St. Charles, Minn. has rejected annexation that could have brought frac sand mining to the community and launched similar projects in the region.
The City Council passed a resolution March 12 to deny all annexation requests from landowners in neighboring St. Charles Township. Those landowners are aligned with a Inn. frac sand developer.
Authorities say reasons for denying annexation include"significant opposition from its citizens," and environmental concerns.
