CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wisconsin (WQOW) - This spring Governor Scott Walker, (R) Wisconsin, will headline a Republican fundraising dinner in Iowa. The state is the known as the launch point for presidential campaigns because of its first in the nation caucus.
On Thursday (03/14), the governor was asked whether speaking at that event signals a potential run for president.
"I'm happy being governor. Who knows what the future holds, but I'm focused on helping the people of the state grow the economy and improve our lives, that's something, like I said, I had to work twice now in the last couple of years to do," replied Walker.
Other speakers who've headlined that Iowa event include Newt Gingrich and Michele Bachmann. Both went on to run for president in 2012.
